The characters left for dead following Nitocris' defeat under the Sphinx had in fact been captured. Tortured for months, they manage to escape when John's last disciples carry out a frontal attack on the residence of Omar Shakti. Survivors discover that the Master of the Brotherhood intends to replace the Cult of the Bloody Language in the opening of the gate in Kenya, so they prepare to pursue him.

The PCs confront their enemies as they attempt to prevent the apocalypse
Divided into three groups, the investigators are opposed to cultists all over the world. In China, the two survivors prevent Penhew from approaching thanks to the Eye of Shadow and Light, disarming the main weapon of the Great Ritual. In Australia, Brenda finds the Shaman and eliminates him. Badly hurt, she has to rely on her allies to awaken the Flying Polyps and put the Bat Cult in disarray. In Kenya, Clive and Shakti open a dimensional portal to the glory of Yog-Shothoth, as to compensate for the absence of the Spawn of Nyarlathotep. The portal allows the all investigators to meet and shoot down the Cultists, putting an end to their apocalyptic plans.
